AQuA is a copilot tool developed by SIL International that seeks to develop capacity and increase the thoroughness of translation quality assurance. EMDC In-Person Conference May 14-22, 2025

You are invited to the Netherlands, there is still time to register!

We are expecting over 600 attendees. Over 400 people have already registered! Space on-site is limited. Registration is only $80 for this 4-day conference (not including housing or pre-EMDC training days).  The 4-days of EMDC each start with worship (music) and devotions, and a plenary session (including “MINI-minute-at-the-mic,” where any organization can talk for 30 seconds).  Then the day is filled with one-hour workshop/seminars that run 4 at the same time (you choose one of the four).  EMDC tries to put dissimilar workshops at the same time to help with your choice.

When legendary DJ Grand Wizzard Theodore first invented the technique of scratching and needle-dropping in 1975, it opened up a portal into a world of possibilities, creating new styles and sounds by altering records. Fast-forward to 1983, jazz pianist Herbie Hancock teamed up with Bill Laswell and Michael Beinhorn to write and produce “Rockit,” a landmark track that prominently showcased the turntable as an instrument during televised performances at the 1985 Grammys. Buoyed by the success of the music video on MTV, this sensation hit a generation of kids who would go on to create new sounds from records in unconventional ways.
